- The Danish Handcraft
Guild began producing the original
- Danish Flower Thread
in 1929. The vegetable dyes used
- to dye the threads
were created
by the Guild's Master Dyer,
- Einar Hansen.
-
- The Guild's Master Designer and Teacher, Gerda Bengtsson
- expanded the Guild's range of colors. Ms. Bengtsson
- specialized in beautiful botanical designs. Whenever she
- needed a needed a new color of green for the leaves of a plant,
- for example, a new color would be created. The name,
- "Danish Flower Thread" was given as a tribute to Gerda
- Bengtsson's floral designs.
-
- Danish Flower Thread is
a matte 100% cotton fiber.
- Available in 102
colors, it is a single ply, round fiber
- (versus a flat fiber

- knot easily, make it
